Lawful basis for processing data
All data processing is carried out by consent or either under the legitimate interest of Matt Horrox, or public interest. These cover processing data to conduct casework, campaigning and communication. Where processed under the lawful basis of a task carried out in the public interest, it is to support or promote democratic engagement.
How your data collected, used and stored
When you contact Matt Horrox seeking assistance, data provided by you and from correspondence with third parties in response to cases taken up on your behalf will be collected, processed and stored to enable Matt Horrox and his office to assist with your case and respond.
Your data will be stored electronically and securely or in a locked and protected environment. Access to your personal data will be limited to Matt Horrox and his staff for the purpose of dealing with your query or case and maintaining office records.
Who your data is shared with
If you contact Matt Horrox about a personal, local or policy issue, your data may be passed onto a third party in the course of dealing with your enquiry, such as local authorities, government agencies, public bodies, health trusts, regulators and so on. Any third parties that we might share your data with are obliged to keep your details secure and to use them only for the basis on which they were originally intended.
Other than in the circumstances above, Matt Horrox will not share your personal data with other organisations or individuals without your explicit consent.
How long your data will be kept
Your data will only be kept for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purpose described in this policy and may be kept for up to a maximum retention of two election cycles after your case has been closed in case you get in touch again for further help from Matt Horrox.

Special category data will be processed under the lawful basis indicated in section 3 of the Data Protection Act 2018, as is permitted in clauses 22, 23 and 24 of Schedule 1 of the Data Protection Act 2018, covering political parties and elected representatives.
