Matt's Priorities

Costs are up everywhere. Taxes are up. Interest rates are up. Mortgages and rents are up. Wages are not keeping pace. Families are being squeezed. Tackling the cost of living crisis has to be the number one priority. 

It takes too long to get a GP appointment and it's near impossible to find an NHS dentist. The Tories have broken the NHS, Reform UK want to sell it off. Matt will keep Labour's feet to the fire to improve services for taxpayers who deserve better.

For years, water companies have been polluting waterways - pouring raw sewage into the sea and rivers - all while paying dividends. This has to stop. We also must reduce the volume of litter on our streets and crack down on illegal fly tipping.

 The world today is more dangerous and volatile than at any time in modern history. This is a crucial moment for Britain step up, to work with our NATO and European allies, to improve our national resilience and build our defence and security capability.

Every individual has the right to be whoever he/she wants to be and to live their lives the way they want to do so. The state, newspapers and political parties should absolutely not be trampling on those rights.  

There is a national housing crisis and rents are high. But look around and you'll see many boarded up buildings, abandoned developments and empty shops. We need more affordable spaces, fewer "luxury" flats for investors, and need to return disused assets to use. 

The M20 is frequently clogged with lorries. Our roads are falling apart. Bus services are expensive and inadequate in rural areas. And our trains to Europe no longer stop in Kent. And we must do more to prepare for a post-fossil fuels future.
